We recently went back for a visit to Boston, Massachusetts. It’s become our habit when visiting Boston, to do a day trip and visit some other nearby favorite. This time we chose Newport, Rhode Island (an upscale, yet quaint New England town on the coast).
You know the saying, “A picture is worth a thousand words.” Well the beauty and opulence of The Breakers mansion in Newport, Rhode Island had us virtually speechless.
So this is a Wordless Wednesday post.
No indoor photography of the Vanderbilt home was allowed, so you only get to admire the outside of the mansion and its expansive and immaculate grounds.
Even on this chilly and gloomy October afternoon, you can see why Newport was the summer play-land of the Gilded Age elite.
