Amazingly, I’ve been blogging for just over a year now. My how time flies! I’ve learned a lot about blogging, social media, and web writing over the last year. Mostly, I’ve learned enough to know I have so much more to learn.
To mark my one year blogiversary, I decided to do a tribute post listing the sources that have helped me find my way, bit by bit, in this great big blogosphere in hopes that you may find them helpful too. Please note: I haven’t had/made the time to implement all their excellent advice yet, so please don’t judge their expertise based on the current state of my humble blog.
So without further ado, here is my list of people and websites I have found to be extremely helpful over the last year.
Tabitha Dumas – This woman helped me get up and running in the blog world. She has a wealth of knowledge and is a natural born teacher. She specializes in helping you look your best in person and online. If you’re in the Phoenix area, I recommend attending one of her events. I don’t live near her, so we’ve done our sessions over the phone. I always come away with so many “gems” after a meeting with her. (Now if I could just find the time to implement everything.)
Blog Genie – I discovered Rita when I was looking for help switching over to a self-hosted WordPress site. Her blog is full of resources for beginning bloggers and beyond. She was very attentive and responsive through her emails. I felt like she truly cared about this fledgling blogger.
Tari Burt – This is a beautiful woman with a BEAUTIFUL blog. Tari truly has a gift for design and has helped me overhaul the look of my blog. If you’re looking for a graphic design consultant, give her a call, you won’t be disappointed.
ByRegina.com – If you haven’t heard of Regina yet, you need to go check her out now! I’ll wait here while you get lost on her page. She has a wealth of resources on her blog to help you grow yours. I’ve barely begun to scratch the surface and have yet to implement most of what I’ve learned. She takes care to give thorough feedback to those who come to her for help.
TechnMarketing.com – These guys have their finger on the button when it comes to what’s happening in the world of marketing, tech gadgetry, and social media. I stumbled upon them when I was trying to decide about joining the Twitter bandwagon. (I know, I’m late to the party, but you can connect with me here.) Their Twitter specific articles are full of useful tips in layman’s terms. And their site contains a plethora of other up-to-the minute info.
Twelveskip – This is another fabulous site full of helpful blogging and marketing strategies. I want/need to spend a lot more time implementing Pauline’s tips and suggestions.
PicMonkey – Of course, you’re probably already familiar with PicMonkey. (If not, you’re missing out on a great, free visual resource.) My list of resources wouldn’t be complete without mentioning PicMonkey, since I utilize this photo editor so much. (Again, I’ve barely scratched the surface in seeing what it can do for me.)
Well, those are my go-to sites on learning how to navigate this blogosphere. I’d like to say a big “thank you” to all my followers and readers. I hope you find something useful in this list as my gift back to you. And if you have a favorite go-to site that has helped you along your blogging journey, I would love to hear about it.
